Wanting to cause a shift in the landscape of women in public leadership in Africa, we worked on the Amujae Leadership Forum. 'Amujae' means we are going up, which is exactly what the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development works to achieve. The inaugural Forum was a flagship program of the Center, designed to inspire and prepare women leaders to take on positions in the highest levels of public leadership.
Nobel Peace Prize winner Ellen Johnson Sirleaf served as the first elected female head of state on the African continent. We were honored to work with President Sirleaf and her amazing team on the realization of the inaugural Amujae Leadership Forum.
We were involved in the development process and in facilitating during the inaugural Forum itself. Being inspired by so many brilliant and driven organizers and participants only added to our vision of a future with more women leading the way.
