Everyone knows Philips, either for their innovative approach to electronics or for their high quality products. Dr. Monk acts as a sparring partner to Philips for meaningful innovation. What can Philips mean for consumers and small entrepreneurs in rapidly changing African societies?
With an African-European team of around 30 researchers, interviewers, documentary makers, illustrators, content experts and photographers, we have conducted research in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria around several different themes, ranging from clean water, to healthy eating, to breastfeeding, mother empowerment and infant health, to mental health, to oral health. We employ personal interviews, focus group discussions, live street surveys and film making during the research process. We also facilitate ideation sessions, to make contemporary Africa come to life and come up with spot-on ideas for innovations.
“Dr. Monk was a key ingredient of success in our project of identifying new innovation directions for the upcoming middle-class in Africa. With their great network, professional way of working and sensitivity for people and planet, they managed to bring the needs of our audience to life and help us focus on what really matters.”
